Epidemic of Fatherlessness
Women have been spiritually abused. They have been misled and misguided about what a father's love looks like.
When a woman is searching for a man to share her life with, oftentimes she picks the bad apple because she is not used to seeing what good fruit looks like on a man. The first man a woman will ever know is her father. If he is absent, abusive, or aloof in her childhood she will grow up with a tainted perspective of all men. This in tune, will create a distance between her and her Heavenly Father as she is led down a road that leads to more destruction and despair.
The red flags of the man she chooses to be with will be ignored because she hasn’t witnessed what a man with good character looks like. Moral boundaries will be ignored, values will be ever-changing, and the woman will be led astray by another bad example. This is why it is paramount for fathers to step up to the plate and honor God in the way they raise their families. A father who does not go to church, no matter how faithful his wife’s devotions, are met with the reality that only one child out of 50 will become a true believer. If a father does attend regularly, regardless of the practice of the mother, between two-thirds and three-quarters of their children will become churchgoers. This goes to show, that the father has a monumental impact on the child's values and beliefs which inevitably shapes and mold’s the child's character for years to come.
With that being said, a child’s relationship with God begins before they are even born. It begins with the mother’s ability to choose the right man for the job of being a father. “Deep voice, broad shoulders, good job, breadwinner, likes dogs and makes me laugh” have no bearing on a man’s ability to commit to the spiritual leadership of his family. In order for women to make a wise decision on whom they marry, they need to see firsthand what a godly man looks like in their life.
Fathers, be that example. Bend your knee at the altar, obtain a spiritual backbone, and be the head of the household God has called you to be!
